Several local organizations will offer FREE mammogram screenings later this month. Breast cancer is most successfully treated when diagnosed early. Eligible people are between the ages of 40 and 64 years old, reside in Sarasota County, have not had a mammogram in the past year, and are either low-income, uninsured, or underinsured. The screenings will happen on Saturday, October 29 at Newtown Estates Park, located at 2800 Newtown Boulevard. Appointments are required. To register, people under age 50 can call (941) 262-7642.
